Giving Talents

A Million Stories of Outrageous Generosity

What can you give in One Hour? On Tuesday, 29 November 2022 please join the launch of ‘Giving Talents’ between 13:00-14:00hrs local time.

This first campaign is a collaborative effort between Lancaster’s Cornerstone, Giving Tuesday and six global partners who are passionate about outrageous generosity. Be part of the excitement as Millions of People Around the World give ONE HOUR to causes, individuals, groups, or organisations that have needs.

The goal that GivingTalents aims to achieve is that people in communities can feel a sense of belonging, engagement and connection. Because feeling safe, heard, and visible are fundamental to our health and well-being.

Phil McGrath, Centre Manager at LMC The Cornerstone has joined forces with GivingTuesday, the largest and most trusted global movement raising support for grassroots leaders and change-makers alongside representatives from across the globe including representatives from Canada, Brazil, Poland, United Kingdom, United States of America, and Uganda

GivingTuesday is a movement that ignites the power of OUTRAGEOUS GENEROSITY globally.  LMC the Cornerstone and their global partners mirror this mandate and mission.

Phil McGrath said “In partnership with GivingTuesday, we welcome you to reimagine a world built upon shared humanity without limits. It’s about reframing old narratives into new dialogue. About ensuring all generations of thought leaders embrace collaboration, wisdom sharing, and are totally transparent to encourage participation by a greater number of people. It’s, essentially, a new call to global action.

Phil McGrath, Centre Manager, Cornerstone, Lancashire

This global network thrives upon the ethos of helping a neighbour or stranger in need, giving to those who need our help, realising that every act of generosity counts, everyone has something to give and that everyone has value.”

In this context you are invited to reimagine the concepts by which we relate to one another, emphasising shared equity, meeting the needs of others, and building a world where outrageous generosity is simply a part of everyday life.

Our aim is to simply make the world a better place.

For impact we are asking individuals to be sure to tell the world on social media using hashtags #GivingTalents #GivingTalents2022 images or videos.

The website givingtalents.org was launched this week and gives a range of ideas for individuals to engage in Outrageous Generosity. Phil said “Our aim is to simply make the world a better place. We’d love you to get involved – who knows what difference your One Hour can make when added to the hundreds of thousands across the globe? – a small ripple could well escalate into a tsunami of generosity and that would truly be world changing!”
